ILS Changeover

Integrated Library Systems (ILS)

A new ILS is coming to Pickering Public Library, and we look forward to launching this improved system that will enhance user experiences.

As we update the ILS, the system that processes loans and organizes our collection information, you may notice brief disruptions to our usual services. During this transition, hold wait times may be slightly longer than typical, and some features of your accounts might look different or be temporarily unavailable. We will provide updates as we move through the implementation period on this page and the Library's social media channels.

Follow along on InstagramFacebook, or X to receive all the updates as they become available. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to enhance your library experience.

Timeline

  • week of May 20th: loan periods will be temporarily extended for items
  • June 9th: last day to place holds in the system
  • June 12th - 19th: no new check-in or holds fulfillment until the new system is online
    • no changes to your account can be made at this time
    • catalog will still be searchable, but availability information may not be up-to-date
  • June 19th: new ILS system goes live
    • once the new system launches, the catalog will take a few weeks to update accordingly
    • during this time clients will need to call or come in to the library to have staff place holds or update their account
