Pickering Central Library Auditorium

  • Room Capacity:
    • Standing room only - 100 people
    • Chairs (row seating) only - 40 chairs are guaranteed to be available for use
    • Chairs and tables - 40 chairs and 10 tables are guaranteed to be available for use
  • Hours: Monday- Friday 10:00 am – 8:30 pm | Saturday 10:00 am – 4:30 pm | Sunday 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Room rates (Profit): $150 for 4 hours
  • Room rates (Non-Profit): $70 for 4 hours
  • Facilities (for any of these items, please confirm at the time of booking): chairs; tables; sink; small stage; lectern; digital projector and screen with audio option; and microphone. Piano available in the Auditorium for an additional charge of $25.
  • When setting up this space, please ensure there is a 4 ft clearance around both doors (Fire Exits)
  • Default room setup: 6 tables in middle of the space (to make 1 large, board-room style table), with chairs around it. Stack all other black chairs on the 4 dollies in the corner near the main entrance. Fold up remaining 4 tables and place against the back wall (by the windows facing the Mall).
    • The room should be set in this configuration when you enter the space (please let staff onsite know if it is not).
    • The room must be set back to this configuration before you leave the space. Photos and signs are posted on the room walls for reference.

Pickering Central Library Silent Room 1

  • Room Capacity -
    • Standing room only - 20 people
    • Chairs/seated only - 6 chairs are guaranteed to be available for use (staff may be able to provide you with up to 12 chairs, but this must be discussed and confirmed with staff when booking the room)
    • Chairs and tables - 6 chairs and 6 tables are guaranteed to be available for use (as above, up to 12 chairs can be requested at the time of booking/organizing your event)
  • Hours: Monday- Friday 10:00 am – 8:30 pm | Saturday 10:00 am – 4:30 pm | Sunday 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Room Rates (Profit): $80 for 4 hours
  • Room Rates (Non-Profit): $50 for 4 hours
  • Facilities (for any of these items, please confirm at the time of booking): easel, white board, small kitchen.
  • When setting up this space, please ensure there is clearance around the door into the Library (Fire Exit)
  • Default room setup: 6 tables, spread out around the room, with one chair at each table. One table must be placed over top of the outlet on the floor at all times (to avoid a tripping hazard). 
    • The room should be set in this configuration when you enter the space (please let staff onsite know if it is not).
    • The room must be set back to this configuration before you leave the space. Photos and signs are posted on the room walls for reference.

Payment must be received at least 3 business days prior to the rental period. HST and GST are included in all rates. There will be no refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the booking. Cancellations must be made during business hours Monday to Friday. Note: There will be a $46.00 charge for NSF cheques. Groups must provide proof of charitable status to receive non-profit rates. Room set-up and clean up is the responsibility of the renter.

Pickering Central Library Collaborative Rooms

The Collaborative Rooms are now available to be reserved in advance online with your library card.

The Central Library has 3 Collaborative Rooms available for the public to use at no cost. These rooms are for groups up to a maximum of 6 people. A Pickering Public Library card, opens a new window in good standing is required to book the Collaborative Rooms. The rooms can be booked for 2 hours; the time can be extended if no one else is waiting to use the room (please see staff to have your room booking extended). Each room includes a table, chairs, electrical outlets, a whiteboard (erasable markers are available upon request), and a garbage/recycling bin. Doors may be closed for additional privacy. Please note that 1 or more of the rooms may be occasionally booked for Library use.
