Pickering Public Library 2026 Spring Book Sale
Join us at the Pickering Public Library this May for our much-anticipated Spring Book Sale!
It's the perfect opportunity to find great books while supporting your local library. Whether you're an avid reader, looking for the perfect gift, or just love discovering hidden literary gems, we have something for everyone. From fiction to non-fiction, children's books to adult literature, and so much more—don't miss this chance to stock up.
When:
- Friday, May 22, 10 am – 8 pm
- Saturday, May 23, 10 am – 4:30 pm
- Sunday, May 24, 12 pm – 3 pm (or while supplies last)

Want to pass the line and get first pick at the Book Sale?
Want first dibs on the best finds? The First Pick Pass is your chance to shop the Spring Book Sale before doors open to the public, no lines, no rush, just a relaxed and intentional browsing experience.
When you support Pickering Public Library with a registered donation of $15 or more between April 13 to May 14, you’ll be invited to skip the line at the 2026 Spring Book Sale.
It’s our way of celebrating your impact on the community – with early access to the available books, light refreshments, and a free tote to carry your finds. Limited spots available. Donate using this form to reserve your First Pick Pass time slot today!
Time Slots Available:
- Thursday, May 21 at 6 pm to 7 pm
- Thursday, May 21 at 7 pm to 8 pm
- Friday, May 22 at 9 am to 10 am
Spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly. Secure your spot, take your time, and discover your next great read, before anyone else.

Book Donations Welcome!
Help make our book sale a success by donating your gently used books. Here's what you need to know:
Donation Dates:

We will be accepting client book donations for 2 weeks leading up to the book sale, from Friday, May 8 - Thursday, May 21.
Where to Donate:
- Drop off your books at the designated carts located on the first floor of the Central Library.
Donation Guidelines:
- Books must be in good condition, free from:
- Mildew, mold, dust, or dirt
- Bugs or water damage
- Spine damage, excessive highlighting, or handwritten notes
- Missing pages or covers
- If your books don’t meet these guidelines, staff or volunteers will not be able to accept them. Please consider donating such materials to another non-profit organization, or recycle/dispose of items in poor condition.
Important Notes:
- All donated items become the property of Pickering Public Library and will be sold at the Book Sale.
- We do not issue tax receipts for donated books.

Cash, debit or credit card payments accepted. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.
