Pickering Public Library Launches Books+ Express Program

PICKERING, ON (January 4, 2022) – The Pickering Public Library has launched its Books+ Express program, which helps support homebound clients.

In 2021, the Library piloted this program and conducted a search for volunteers within the community. As such, the Library was able to secure 13 volunteers, allowing the program to start accepting clients in need of this meaningful service.

The Books+ Express program pairs homebound clients up with a volunteer who delivers selected materials straight to their home once a month.

To be accepted into this program, clients must be a resident of Pickering, a valid Pickering Public Library cardholder, and be unable to visit the Library in-person.

Community helping community is extremely important. Pickering Public Library encourages residents to get involved by applying to be a volunteer at pickeringlibrary.ca.

Those interested in this program can complete a Client Intake Form here: https://bit.ly/3kumzw6
